Balthazar's Bridge

Acrylic on board. (Sold) The arched reflections in Balthazar’s Bridge echo a time in the 1600s when many wooden bridges were replaced by brick ones. The arched style was a symbol of Amsterdam's prosperity and opulence. Balthazar Florisz drew up a map to show the changes. He can be seen, suggested under the light, contemplating the new shape of the city.
